Carrera de las cuatro décadas

El domingo 21 de setiembre se dará el banderazo de salida para que cientos de corredores de todo el país compitan por una presea en la edición número 40 de la tradicional Carrera Clásica La Prensa.
Este año la competencia estará dedicada a los narradores Mario McGregor Blake y Harry McLean Allen por su notable trayectoria. Ambos son referentes de la locución deportiva del país.
El anuncio oficial se realizó hoy, 10 de setiembre, en conferencia de prensa realizada en el Colegio de Periodistas.
Estuvieron presentes en la convocatoria y explicación de los detalles de la Carrera el presidente de la junta directiva del Colper, Marlon Mora, la directiva Xiomara Sandí, el homenajeado Mario McGregor y Diego Obando de Más Deporte, organizador del evento.
La competencia arrancará a 7:00 a.m. como antesala a la celebración de la Semana de la Comunicación 2015.
En esta edición se mantienen las rutas de 5km o 10km. El recorrido comienza y finaliza en las instalaciones del Colper (ver imagen de recorrido).
Participan las categorías General, Sillas de Ruedas, Profesionales en Comunicación y por edades.
También se llevará a cabo la III edición de la Carrera Infantil que esta vez comprenderá un recorrido que va de los 50 a 200 metros. Pueden participar niños y niñas de 1 a los 12 años.
El costo de la inscripción para la carrera es de ¢12 000 incluyendo la camiseta, número y chip, póliza, masajes, hidratación, seguridad y servicios médicos si llegaran a requerirse.
En el caso de la carrera infantil el costo es de ¢5000 e incluye una camiseta, medalla, póliza y refrigerio.
Posterior a la carrera se realizará una serie de actividades con el fin de promover la participación familiar. Entre ellas, baile de Zumba, Dance Curves, regalías de productos de los patrocinadores y rifas.
Como principal atractivo se sorteará entre los participantes una motocicleta Freedom Spirit Evo 200.
Para participar en la Carrera Clásica la Prensa se puede inscribir en On the Road (Pavas), Endurance (Alajuela), La Casa del Pie (San José Centro, Paseo Colón, Curridabat y Heredia), Athletic Cornes (Cartago), Centro Sport (San José) y en Colper.
